Axecliff Golf Club

Axecliff Golf Club is one of the oldest courses in Devon having been founded in 1884. It is a splendid course and has the distinction of having been designed by legendary golf course architect and five times Open winner in the early 1900s, Scotland's James Braid.

The Fifer is responsible for the layout of many of the top courses in the country, and this one exhibits all the usual hallmarks of one of his designs: plenty of narrow fairways and challenging greens, which are closely guarded by a clutch of large, unforgiving bunkers, and some thick rough to avoid.

No. of holes: 18
Length: 5969 yards
Par: 70
Course Type: Clifftop
