Broadstone Golf Club
Located in the tranquil, picturesque Dorset countryside is Broadstone, a fine example of a heathland course, with many heather-lined fairways and copses abounding over its eighteen holes.
Founded in 1898 and re-designed in 1914 by Harry Shapland Colt, this superb course has been host to many national and regional competitions. The fairways were once graced by Sir Winston Churchill and if you feel something eerie about the course, beware as the 7th and 9th are believed to be built over ancient burial grounds!
It has a par of 70 which is quite generous given that it measures 6315 yards from tee on the first to pin on the last. The par three eleventh is particularly memorable. From an elevated tee, you drive to the back of the green, hoping to avoid the thick rough and heather that lies in wait.
No. of holes: 18
Length: 6315 yards
