Golfing holidays and golf breaks in England.
Carlyon Bay Golf Club
For sheer golfing drama, The Carlyon Bay Golf Course has few peers. On first acquaintance it is easy to be lulled into a false sense of security by the beauty of the setting, but negotiating the course successfully demands concentration and care.
The first nine holes of the spectacular 6500 yard course stretches out along the cliff top, enjoying magnificent views of golden sands. Then the course turns inland through beautiful countryside scenery with many natural hazards including a disused mine shaft, making the course interesting and challenging for golfers of all handicaps.
Certainly, the views from the course across St. Austell Bay are among the finest anywhere, particularly from the ninth green, where an approach shot remotely right will plummet over the cliff edge.
Throughout the year the course is maintained in peak condition. Buggies are available for hire and lessons can be easily arranged. There is also a 'Pro Shop' stocking a huge range of brands and 'The Lady Golfer' catering exclusively for ladies. After your round, the club house provides the ideal setting for celebration, or quiet contemplation.
