Ferndown Golf Club

Top quality courses are easily the most popular with wannabe golfers who want to test their skills on the sort of courses that the pros take on. Few in Dorset come close to rivalling that at Ferndown Golf Club, a truly fabulous long design that has plenty of challenges waiting to judge exactly how good a player you are. Golf World ranked this course 81 in the top 100 Courses in the British Isles - 2003.

Set in the beautiful landscaped Dorset countryside, Ferndown Golf Club has earned the reputation as one of the best private members clubs in the country, and it's easy to see why!

A classic heathland links of 27 holes cut through natural heathland has earned the reputation as one of the finest and most interesting. The Club is steeped in history and tradition and has played host to a number of major tournaments including, Hennessey Cup, Weetabix British Ladies Championship, De Vere Seniors Classic where the likes of Faldo, Norman, Langer & many more have all played.

Water comes into play on several holes with plenty of lakes dotted around the course. Perhaps, though, the signature hole of the course would have to be the twelfth, which has an island green that you'll need to judge just right or you could find your ball landing in a watery grave - taking your scorecard's respectability with it.

The clubhouse offers comfortable surroundings where you can relax before or after your round. The facilities include full changing facilities, a large lounge and bar with terrace and a spacious restaurant - all of which enjoy splendid views across the Old Course.
