West Cornwall Golf Club

Sited on the southern shore of St Ives Bay at Lelant, West Cornwall Golf Club enjoys an enviable reputation as a most testing 18 holes of golf, on a course which has many beautiful panoramas. Every round of golf is enhanced by the spectacular views.

Wherever golf is played, people speak of West Cornwall Golf Club as one of the most glorious 'natural' courses in the British Isles. They will remember that 'Long Jim' Barnes, one of the small band of players who have won an Open Championship on both sides of the Atlantic, learned the game as a caddie here.

Although not quite measuring 6000 yards the testing quality of West Cornwall lies in the fact that it has no mercy on a bad or timid shot. Invariably played in anything from a light breeze to a force 9 the course has many defences, but attack it and you should then be able to enjoy the 19th hole.

With memorabilia dedicated to 'Long' Jim Barnes and more recently Phillip Rowe you will enjoy your surrounds, encompassing all that is special about the history and traditions of the game of golf.
