The Course at Bath is full of variety and is laid out over fine "golfing country". Springy downland turf over shallow soil and limestone ensures rapid draining and the Course is usually found to be in superb condition. Voted among the top ten new courses in Britain and top fifty golf destinations in Europe by Golf World Magazine, Bowood boasts one of the finest 18 hole courses in the South of England. The Players Club is a new 18 hole championship course situated just one mile from junction 18 of the M4. Open in May 2002, one of the striking features is its maturity with woodland, lakes, trees and gorse coming into play. Six sets of tees will ensure that whatever your handicap, you will enjoy your round.
The Best Western Abbey Hotel (City Centre) is probably the best located tourist hotel in Bath. Each of the 59 bedrooms has been recently refurbished. Being a privately owned property, this has been done with a little more care and attention to detail than one might find elsewhere. Bath is noted as a very cosmopolitan city and its multitude of restaurants reflect this. The majority of these restaurants are within easy walking distance of the hotel. In the hotel itself there is a light supper menu served daily in the restaurant between 7:00pm and 9:00pm. Breakfast is served daily in the restaurant.
