Burnham & Berrow Golf Club

Burnham & Berrow Golf Course

St Christopher's Way, Burnham on Sea, Somerset, TA8 2PE

Voted No. 70 - THE UK & IRELAND TOP 100 - Todays Golfers 2010

This idyllic 18 hole championship golf course is built into the sandy dunes at Berrow, near Burnham-On-Sea with stunning views across to the Somerset Hills and the Bristol Channel. Long par 4's and 5's are a challenge with the par 3's requiring accuracy to well guarded greens.

The course was founded in 1890, and the club's first professional was five-time Open champion JH Taylor. Burnham staged the English Amateur Championship in 2006, the Tillman Trophy in 2009 and will host both the Brabazon Trophy and the R&A Boys Championships in 2011.

The Burnham and Berrow Golf Club course is challenging and incredibly fun. It boasts narrow, ravine-like valleys for fairways plus natural hollows and humps, plus tiny greens surrounded by deep bunkers. Throughout the years, Burnham has gained an honoured place in golf; it is a great test and although not easy its layout is such that it is not unduly harsh on moderate players.
