Kendal Golf Club is a fine parkland course. It's first hole is often considered the toughest opener in Britain - 231 yards, uphill all the way, out of bounds to the left and woods to the right! A challenging course to begin your trip with. Windermere Golf Club should prove much more relaxing. As on a links type course, awkward stances and blind shots are not uncommon at Windermere, and with the greens being fairly small, a well-honed short game if often the key to a good round. Kirkby Lonsdale is also a course than can often threaten one's points tally, but is again set in the most magnificent scenery.
