Best Western Churchill Hotel, Dover
Royal St George's (also known affectionately as Sandwich) is one of the great links courses of British golf. The test may be fierce and the fairways can be extremely fast when it's sunny, but there is something incredibly enduring about Royal St George's. No matter how difficult, it has an appeal like no other. Situated four miles from Sandwich through the Sandwich Bay Estate, the Prince's Golf Club is perfectly located to enjoy the traditions of great links terrain and doesn't let you down. Prince's may be a golf course that is steeped in history but, unlike some other venues who boast great history and prestige, it is one of the friendliest and most accommodating golf venues in the South East of England. Royal Cinque Ports Golf Club, in Sandwich, is but an 8-iron from the more famous Open Championship test that is Royal St George's. It enjoys a great deal of exposure thanks to its more famous neighbour, but there are those believe it to be a better test of golf than the Open links.
Set in a Regency Crescent on Dover's Waterfront, with uninterrupted sea views, the Best Western Churchill Hotel is a listed building offering ensuite accommodation in comfortable, well-equipped rooms. The well-appointed bedrooms (some with sea views), stylish Brasserie with panoramic views of the English Channel, and the sports and leisure facilities make the Churchill the perfect place to spoil yourself on a golfing break or a longer stay.
