Clevedon Golf Club Castle Road, Walton-St-Mary, Clevedon, North Somerset, BS21 7AA
Clevedon Golf club proudly boasts of having one of the most picturesque golf courses in the South West. The views from the course are second to none, with the new Severn crossing adding to the splendid scenery of the opening few holes.
Although Clevedon Golf club was formed in 1891, golf has been played on the current site upon the Castle Farm since 1889. In recent years the course has seen some major changes with the introduction of 5 new holes, and the construction of 18 new USGA specification greens to meet the demands of golf into the next century. The course work was completed in 1999 to excellent reviews from all golfers who visit.
The Par 72 course is both challenging and interesting at 6557 yds and with a standard scratch of 72. The front nine offers spectacular views and scenery as the course stretches along the Severn estuary then down into the valley. The back nine brings you into the new land and 5 holes which includes the 572 par 5 - not for the faint-hearted. As you leave the new land you prepare yourself for the Clevedon signature hole.
The Castle tee stands over 200ft above the fairway with views all over Clevedon and out into the estuary with Flat Holm, Steep Holm and the Welsh coastline stretching before you. This is one hole we guarantee you will never forget.
The restaurant provides excellent bar food of all types. The varied and delicious golfers' snacks are very appetizing and popular, just the thing after a round of golf.
