Deans Place Hotel, Alfriston
The dykes, ponds and bunkers at Cooden Beach Golf Club will catch the wayward shot but the real hazard is the wind, which makes it a different course every time it is played. East Brighton is a down-land course less than a mile inland with spectacular coastal views. At 6,426 yards and with a par of 72, East Brighton presents a genuine challenge for golfers of all handicaps. Royal Eastbourne Golf Club is over 100 years old and is a fine combination of a Parkland and Downland course. Both the Devonshire and Hartington courses are maintained to the very highest of standards. Built on chalk-based terrain, the club seldom witnesses course closure.
The 14th Century Deans Place Country Hotel is privately owned and lies in the heart of the Sussex Countryside in the beautiful village of Alfriston, which has a uniqueness with its quaint buildings, narrow streets and individual shops. Set in four acres of fabulous gardens, Deans Place Hotel has all the facilities for a perfect break - 36 bedrooms, Public bar and lounges, the locally renowned Harcourts Restaurant, an outdoor heated swimming pool, croquet and mini putting green; and a large terrace for alfresco dining during the summer months.
