Golfing holidays and golf breaks in England.
Fulford Golf Club Heslington Lane, York, North Yorkshire, YO10 5DY
Voted No. 109 in the Golf Monthly/HSBC Top 120 UK Course Rankings - November 2006
Fulford was planned and constructed by Major Charles McKenzie, the brother and partner of the now legendary Dr Alexander McKenzie who designed Augusta National & Cypress Point.
Fulford Golf Club has hosted many major Amateur tournaments and internationals since 1954 when it hosted its first Yorkshire County Championship. The club has hosted a wealth of professional tournaments, including the Benson & Hedges International and the Murphys Cup. "Major" winners Seve Ballasteros, Nick Faldo, Sandy Lyle, Tony Jacklin and Ian Woosnam have all been tournament winners at Fulford. A reputation for the best greens on the European Tour also attracted players of the standing of Greg Norman, Lee Trevino, Tom Weiskopf, Gary Player and Billy Casper and legends of the game like Sam Snead and Tommy Bolt.
The course is built predominantly on sandy heathland which sustains an ideal surface for golf. The ridges on the first fairway are rigg and furrow plough tracks, a reminder of the pre-Norman land used and a part of York's amazing cultural heritage.
Enjoy the challenge of a course that has tested some of the World's finest golfers over the years and experience the true northern hospitality offered in the comfortable Clubhouse.
