Furness Golf Club

Central Drive, Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, LA14 3LN

Furness golf club is situated on the Island of Walney, on the western tip of the Furness Peninsula, and is the sixth oldest course in England. A traditional links course, it stretches over 6363 yards and has a par of 71. The views are quite stunning as it borders with the ocean and the Irish Sea, which lap the coastal fairways.

The course layout affords a fair test of golf to players of all abilities. The first six holes are straight out to the nearby Earnse Bay, followed by six back along the picturesque shore line. At the par three 10th hole, look out for Furness's longer version of the Postage Stamp. This extremely challenging hole is guarded by 5 bunkers from an elevated tee. The remaining six holes are a combination of both directions which eventually lead to the friendly 19th shown below.

No. of holes: 18
Length: 6363 yards
