Ramsey Golf Club

Brookfield Avenue, Ramsey, Isle of Man, IM8 2AH

Set in front of a stunning background of the northern hills of the Isle of Man, Ramsey Golf Club was founded in 1891. It was laid out by Old Tom Morris, modified by George Lowe, and then in 1926 it was redesigned by James Braide, five times Open Champion. Most recently the course has been further modified to a plan of Steve Marnoch.

Ramsey golf club offers a course set on mainly flat ground, making it easy on the legs. The first six and last two holes are over flat ground divided by a brook, while the remaining 10 are set in wooded parkland with a hilly backdrop. The first hole, a par five, presents a real challenge, playing into the prevailing wind with a stream cutting across the fairway. The third green looks deceptively easy, but is considered the most difficult green on the course and the 18th, another par three, with a blind plateau green, is also quite demanding.

The views from the lounge and restaurant over the 1st and 18th holes with the woods and moorland of the northern hills are simply stunning!
