Royal Norwich Golf Club

Drayton High Road, Hellesdon, Norwich, Norfolk, NR6 5AH

The Club was formed at a Meeting held in the Council Chamber of the Norwich Guildhall on 8th November 1893. The Duke of York (the future King George V) consented to become the Patron the following day and the Club's emblem was therefore designed around the white rose of York. The Club takes pride in its Royal patronage that has continued thereafter.

Fairly described as a combination of heathland and parkland, Royal Norwich is quite simply one of the finest golf courses in the Norfolk area. The superb, undulating course is set in mature parkland and provides a challenging game of golf to both professionals and amateurs. The layout has remained largely unchanged since James Braid made some alterations in 1924.

A short pitch from the 18th, the 19th is the only 'watering' hazard on the course. The Clubhouse, built in 1964, has been sited in a position so that the lounge and balcony command magnificent views over the opening and closing holes.
