Sandiway Golf Club

Chester Road, Sandiway, Northwich, Cheshire, CW8 2DJ

The delight of Sandiway Golf Course set in wooded secluded undulating countryside is enhanced by the geographical spread & individuality of its eighteen holes.

The Course was established in 1920 when the famous professional golfer & golf course architect Ted Ray was employed. He ensured excellent use of the natural features & contours. Improvements were suggested & implemented by HS Colt in 1925 with the current layout, excepting eventual boundary changes by the local authority, retaining much of its originality.

With small greens guarded by tight natural tree-lined fairways the course has three par five's, five par three's & ten par four holes; six of the latter exceed 400 yards in length. The course also has many doglegs and tree-lined holes that give it some extra personality.

Highly regarded as one of the best inland courses in the North of England Sandiway has hosted many EGU, LGU & Cheshire County Championships. It was the final qualifying course when the Open Championship was last held at the Royal Liverpool Golf Club in 1967.
