Highly Commended - Golf World Top 100 UK Golf Courses 2008

Set on the cliffs in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Sheringham is a challenging course for all golfers at all times of the year and has been the venue for 3 English Ladies' Championships. The course celebrated its centenary in 1991 and remains one of the most picturesque in the region - the view from the 5th tee is one of the most memorable in golf!

Sheringham Golf Club was formed in 1891 as a nine hole course, which was extended in 1898 to a full eighteen holes. The course is laid out on the west side of the town on a strip of rolling, gorse-clad clifftop that lies between the preserved North Norfolk Railway and the North Sea.

Noted for its long par 4 holes it is a severe test of players' ability, especially when the wind blows!
