Golf Holidays in Gloucestershire - Speech House Hotel

Speech House Hotel, Forest of Dean

Forest Hills is a superb parkland course with panoramic views, excellent greens and challenging holes. They boast a course with some of the best drainage of any course in the West of England and Wales. The clubhouse, with views overlooking the golf course, is recognised as one of the best venues in the area. With unique rolling parkland, lakes, streams, bunkers and woodland the Forest of Dean golf course provides a challenge to all categories of golfers and is a joy to play. The course is well-maintained and mature with panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. Ross-on-Wye is a very scenic and quite undulating woodland type golf course, its fairways bordered by a rich variety of silver birch trees, oaks and pines: you can play a round here and only rarely see another group of golfers so self-contained are the holes.

The Speech House Hotel in Gloucestershire is a 17th century former hunting lodge set in the heart of the Royal Forest of Dean. Comfortably appointed bedrooms, several with four-poster beds have been tastefully refurbished and offer modern facilities while retaining their original charm, most overlooking the romantic wilderness of the surrounding Forest of Dean. The beamed Verderer's Court restaurant reflects the room's continuing use as a courthouse for the Foresters of Dean, while the more intimate Freeminers Restaurant maintains links with a unique Forest tradition.
