Golfing holidays and golf breaks in England.
Torquay Golf Club St Marychurch, Torquay, Devon, TQ1 4QF
Torquay Golf Club has a long and prestigious history, being officially opened by Harry Vardon who had already won 'The Open Championship' on four occasions before he went on to win again two months after opening Torquay Golf Club in 1911.
Torquay is recognised as one of the three towns that makes up the English Riviera, the sensational tourist resort in the south-west of England. It is home to plenty of challenges and demanding rounds of golf so be sure to take enough clubs with you to the course at Torquay Golf Club, as you can never be totally certain of how your round will play.
It is a delightful parkland course with stunning views over Lyme Bay from a number of holes and judging your round is made even harder by the prevailing wind that blows over the clifftops of the course. Golfers who have played here have commented that on a windy day, it plays like a completely different course to those days when it is a lot more calm.
