Normandy is a region with an almost embarrassingly large number of famous attractions, so what to do when not on the course need never be a problem. The spectacular Gothic abbey at Mont St Michel for instance, is without doubt one of France's major tourist attractions. Then there are the legendary D-Day Landing Beaches, also the world famous Bayeux Tapestry, the swish beach resort of Deauville, and the amazing gardens created by Impressionist Claude Monet at Giverny. And that's before you even begin to consider the mixture of historical and modern delights offered by major cities such as Caen and Rouen.
Finally there's the rich and rewarding Normandy cuisine to savour. This, and the local cider and calvados, are definitely not to be missed.
