Allingham Arms Hotel, Cork
Bundoran Golf Club is one of those golf courses with a fantastic domestic reputation that is relatively little known on the international stage. It is a classic links course that has been in existence for over one hundred years and deserves to be rated among the great Irish links courses. County Sligo Golf Club is situated at Rosses Point, a seaside village eight kilometres north west of Sligo town, and is one of the oldest and best known links courses in Ireland. Donegal Golf Club is on the Murvagh peninsula in Donegal Bay, hence it is generally known as Murvagh. The links is isolated from the outside world by a forest of evergreens washed on one side by the great Atlantic Ocean and by Donegal Bay on the others. The challenging links at Strandhill nestle at the foot of Knocknarea Mountain and have been described as 'the jewel of the West' by Christy O'Connor.
The Allingham Arms Hotel is splendidly located in the centre of Bundoran with uninterrupted views of the Blue Stack Mountains on the other side of Donegal Bay. With 118 comfortable rooms, spacious and well-appointed public areas, excellent cuisine, a lively bar and considerate personal attention this family managed hotel has a superb reputation and a very high level of repeat visitors.
