Recommended golf holidays in County Kerry.
The Castlerosse Hotel - Itinerary 1 Killarney, Co Kerry
County Kerry boasts many of the top European golf courses, but also features a number of lesser known ones, but courses which are still a delight to play.
Beaufort Golf Club is one such example, a beautiful, scenic, parkland course which compliments its more famous neighbours. Dooks Golf Club, where golf has been played since 1889, is another wonderful course and is set out on one of the three stretches of sand dunes at the head of Dingle Bay - a majestic and tranquil environment in which to enjoy good golf. One of the most famous names in Irish golf is Killarney, where one finds three classic parkland courses, Killeen, Mahony's Point and Lachabane. We suggest playing the Killeen Course, venue of the 1991/1992 Irish Open Championship and host to the 1996 Curtis Cup. The Course is nestled amidst the serene splendour of the famous Lakes of Killarney in the shadow of the majestic Macgillycuddy's Reeks. To complete the golf tour, we suggest playing at Ring of Kerry Golf Club, which is a marvellous spectacle of imposing, yet inviting golf.
The Castlerosse Hotel & Leisure Centre is one of the most deluxe 3 star hotels in Killarney! Only a little over a mile from the town centre, it borders the National Park on one side and Killarney Golf Course and Fishing Club on the other. The lakeside setting of the hotel is truly magnificent with splendid views of lakes and mountains, especially from the restaurant and panoramic bar. The pastoral and wooded landscapes provide idyllic lakeside walks through the hotels own grounds and the adjoining National Park.

The Castlerosse Hotel, Killarney, Co Kerry - Itinerary 2
The cliffs, dunes, rugged terrain and the wild Atlantic Ocean combined together to make Tralee one of the world's most scenic and spectacular true links Golf Clubs. Each hole on this unique Golf Club offers its own special challenge. The treacherous traps and undulating greens all add up to make this a Golf Club you will want to tackle again and again. Ballybunion actually boasts two separate courses, The Old Course and the Cashen Course. The Old Course, consistently ranked as one of the world's top ten courses, features a graveyard by the first tee, which some say is a warning to golfers who breeze through the first five holes only to come face to face with the ever challenging 6th, the fiendish 8th and the devilishly tricky 15th. Less than 1% of all courses in Europe are championship links. Waterville is honoured to be included among the very best of these in a prestigious Golf World survey. The course gradually introduces the player to its special tempo and rhythm and concludes with a symphony of links beauty. After the rough-and-tumble challenge of the traditional Irish links courses, the tranquil beauty and somewhat gentler pace of Killarney's three classic parkland courses offers a welcome respite. The Killeen Course, venue of the 1991/1992 Irish Open Championship and host to the 1996 Curtis Cup, is nestled amidst the serene splendour of the famous Lakes of Killarney in the shadow of the majestic Macgillycuddy's Reeks.
The Castlerosse has a panoramic restaurant which overlooks the Lower Lake and has magnificent views of the Magillicuddy Reeks, Irelands highest mountain range. Mulligans is a traditional Irish pub within the hotel which provides a convivial atmosphere for a drink or a snack. The Leisure Centre features a 20 metre pool, gymnasium, jacuzzi, steamroom and saunas.
