The Mespil Hotel, Dublin - Itinerary 1

Mespil Road, Dublin 4, Ireland

The course at St. Margarets Golf & Country Club has quickly gained a reputation of being first class, highly praised by its many visitors and professionals. Between 1994 and 1997 the course played host to three major international tournaments. Knockanally Golf Club, located to the west of Dublin, was home to the Irish Professional Match play Championships in 1987, 1988 and 1989, as well as the Irish Club Professional Championship in 1994. It is regarded as a fine parkland course and an ideal location to commence your Dublin itinerary. Seapoint is a championship course with a par of 72, measuring over 7,000 yards and constructed on 260 acres of links land. Mature trees border the course on the west and offer a contrast to the links, while water hazards come into play on five of the first nine holes. The closing holes are bordered by the beach and offer magnificent views of the East Coast. Citywest, recognised as being one of the most outstanding courses now being played at international level, hosted the 1994 Iveco Irish Masters Championship. Golfing supremo's Sandy Lyle and Ian Woosnam recently visited Citywest and were lavish in their praise and admiration for the quality of the course.

The Mespil Hotel offers an ideal city centre location. The emphasis throughout is on space and comfort and the decor modern and stylish. The Mespil provides the perfect base for your golfing break.

The Mespil Hotel, Dublin - Itinerary 2

Course designers Tom Craddock and Pat Ruddy have created a course renowned for its challenging water hazards, huge undulating greens and contoured fairways. Little wonder that St Margaret's has been elevated into the top rank of Irish Golf Courses within a few short years. Portmarnock Hotel & Golf Links is a prestigious development located 25 minutes from Dublin city centre. It is fitting that Masters champion Bernhard Langer chose this magnificent site to design his first links course. Opened in 1995, the perceptive planning provides all the necessary ingredients for the links purist. The Royal Dublin Golf Club covers some 160 acres. Enjoy the excellent conditions of the Championship Links and particularly the fine testing closing holes. In particular the decision to try the long carry over the garden is one many golfers have regretted. Set in the grounds of the magnificent Luttrellstown Castle Estate, this superbly well maintained course is being hailed as one of Ireland's finest. This championship facility offers many excellent features and is particularly renowned for the quality of its greens.

A warm and friendly welcome awaits you at the Mespil Hotel. Situated in the heart of Georgian Dublin overlooking the leafy banks of the Grand Canal and just a short walk from St. Stephen's Green.
