This outstanding Championship Golf Course offers all golf enthusiasts a very relaxed yet challenging round. Set in the majestic Lee Valley on the main Cork/Killarney road this quality course boasts panoramic views of this most scenic part of Ireland including the Lee Valley and the Cork & Kerry Mountain ranges.
Seven of the eighteen holes have water as a major hazard. This along with its undulating terrain should provide a stern test to all your golfing abilities. The official opening in July 1993 was marked by an exhibition match featuring Christy O'Connor Jnr. and Fred Couples in a return of their historic Ryder Cup match at The Belfry. More recently the course received broad acclaim when Lee Valley hosted the Irish Assistants' Championship in July 1996. The course also has the unique feature of two historic "fairy forts".
The forts are over 300 years old and are distinctly Irish. After your game you may want to seek the advice of the club's registered professionals. They are always available either at the well-stocked pro-shop or the fully equipped floodlit driving range complete with teaching bays and video facilities. You don't have to be a golfer to experience the excellent facilities at Lee alley.
Food is available throughout the day in both the Clashanure Lounge Bar and Restaurant. In fact, the restaurant has created a particularly special niche and is well established in its own right. It is the perfect place to dine in the evening if one is looking for a relaxing ambiance coupled with the highest standard of cuisine. Lee Valley has no temporary greens/tees and has superb drainage so the course is playable all year round.
