Mespil Hotel, Dublin
The course at St. Margarets Golf & Country Club has quickly gained a reputation of being first class, highly praised by its many visitors and professionals. Between 1994 and 1997 the course played host to three major international tournaments. Knockanally Golf Club, located to the west of Dublin, was home to the Irish Professional Match play Championships in 1987, 1988 and 1989, as well as the Irish Club Professional Championship in 1994. It is regarded as a fine parkland course and an ideal location to commence your Dublin itinerary. Seapoint is a championship course with a par of 72, measuring over 7,000 yards and constructed on 260 acres of links land. Mature trees border the course on the west and offer a contrast to the links, while water hazards come into play on five of the first nine holes. The closing holes are bordered by the beach and offer magnificent views of the East Coast. Citywest, recognised as being one of the most outstanding courses now being played at international level, hosted the 1994 Iveco Irish Masters Championship. Golfing supremo's Sandy Lyle and Ian Woosnam visited Citywest and were lavish in their praise and admiration for the quality of the course.
The Mespil Hotel is a modern three star hotel located within Georgian Dublin, an elegant and stylish part of Dublin city centre and just 15-20 minutes walk from St. Stephens Green, Grafton Street, Ballsbridge and the RDS and a further 10 minutes to Temple Bar. The emphasis throughout is on space and comfort and the decor modern and stylish. The Mespil provides the perfect base for your golfing break.
