The Allingham Arms Hotel Main Street, Bundoran, Co. Donegal, North West Ireland
Bundoran Golf Club is one of those golf courses with a fantastic domestic reputation that is relatively little known on the international stage. It is a classic links course that has been in existence for over one hundred years and deserves to be rated among the great Irish links courses. County Sligo Golf Club is situated at Rosses Point, a seaside village eight kilometres north west of Sligo town, and is one of the oldest and best known links courses in Ireland. Donegal Golf Club is on the Murvagh peninsula in Donegal Bay, hence it is generally known as Murvagh. The links is isolated from the outside world by a forest of evergreens washed on one side by the great Atlantic Ocean and by Donegal Bay on the others.
The Allingham Arms Hotel is splendidly located in the centre of Bundoran with uninterrupted views of the Blue Stack Mountains on the other side of Donegal Bay. With 118 comfortable rooms, spacious and well-appointed public areas, excellent cuisine, a lively bar and considerate personal attention this family managed hotel has a superb reputation and a very high level of repeat visitors.

The Riverside Hotel Millbrook, Sligo, County Sligo, Ireland
Donegal has been described as the Muirfield of Ireland, similar in terrain with two loops of nine holes, the first nine an outer loop and the second nine an inner loop running in the opposite direction. At nearly 7,300 yards (championship) this course is long. Arriving at County Sligo golf club is a spiritual experience. The lovely clubhouse of the traditional links style houses a host of memorabilia of past tournaments - the annual West of Ireland Amateur Championship is played here every year and there have been several major international amateur tournaments. The picturesque village of Strandhill is just 5k from Sligo Town. It is home to one of the best kept secrets in golf - Strandhill Golf Club - described as 'the jewel of the West' by Christy O'Connor. The challenging links nestles at the foot of Knocknarea Mountain, with Ballysadare Bay to the south and the Atlantic Ocean to the west. It is a very fine example of a links course. Bundoran, which provides a stern test to golfers of all abilities, winds along the coastline and returns inland to give a mixture of holes. Laid out in two returning nine hole loops, the course is largely undulating and offers fine views over Donegal Bay. Exposed to the elements of nature, man has succeeded in sculpting a course of great beauty and one that is truly a pleasure to play.
Part of Irish Court Hotels, the newly opened Riverside Hotel features 66 luxury bedrooms, bar, restaurant, leisure center and conference rooms. Whether coming to Sligo on business or pleasure, The Riverside Hotel offers the very best in hospitality and convenience.
