Golfing holidays and golf breaks in Ireland.
Wexford Golf Club Mulgannon, Co. Wexford, Ireland
Wexford Golf Club is an 18 hole, 5734 yards, Par 72, parkland golf course, right in the historic town of Wexford. This traditional-style course has water and natural hazards that come into play on many holes. Pine trees line almost all the fairways, and most of the greens are well bunkered.
The first hole, which is a Par 3, 174 yard, Index 5, makes a statement that you are at the beginning of a roller-coaster round of golf. As you progress, you will enjoy panoramic and stunning views of Wexford Town and Harbour, Rosslare and Rosslare Harbour, with Forth Mountain, the Blackstairs and Wicklow Mountains in the background.
The front 9 has a Par of 35, and the back 9 a Par of 37. The last 4 holes, which begin and end back at the Clubhouse in a lovely loop, have to be played to be believed.
The signature hole is the 18th, a 380-yard, par 4, requiring a tee shot over a marsh and up a dogleg right fairway, then an approach shot over another marsh to the green.
Visiting players consistently describe them as the most interesting finishing holes they have experienced.
