Castro Marim Golf Course
The Atlantic Course, opened in June 2001, is the first of two courses to be built at Castro Marim, located near the Spanish border.
Castro Marim offers breathtaking views to the mountains, the Atlantic Ocean and the River Guadiana. Course designer Terry Murrey has built the Atlantic Course on attractive rolling terrain with pines and a variety of other tree species, making good use of the natural surrounding. Lakes and bunkers along with trees in the centre of the fairways are challenging also the low handicappers.
The design of the course made use of the natural undulations of the hills and is sprinkled with many ornamental lakes. The fairways have been made with Bermuda grass, whilst the greens are made with the new Penn A4 grass.
