Fairmont Hotel, St Andrews
St Andrews, KY16 8PN
A fantastic destination that offers great accommodation, sumptuous meals and inspiring golf on two of the latest courses to join the St. Andrews portfolio. A traditional Scottish layout, the Torrance course was created with the vision and expertise of Sam Torrance, winning Ryder Cup Captain 2004, and the legendary Gene Sarazen. A walking course only, the Torrance offers a challenging round and with its links style characteristics, yet unconventional layout, provides a welcome addition to the array of play available within this East corner of Scotland.
Opened in the summer of 2002 and redesigned in 2008, the Kittocks, formerly the Devlin, is a stunning cliff-top course designed by Australian Bruce Devlin, again with the help of Gene Sarazen. The Kittocks is a completely unrivalled course, providing unique characteristics and requiring a well-devised strategy of play. An optional buggy course, and for good reason being one of the longest courses in the UK today, and a must play for any visitor to the area.
Fairmont St Andrews sits proudly amidst the rugged, coastal landscape of the East coast of Scotland while commanding spectacular views of the bay's golden beaches and medieval St Andrews skyline. It provides an international standard of service and attention to detail in the comfort and convenience of a modern world-class resort. The extensive facilities, including 209 deluxe guest rooms, a 15,000sq ft dedicated conference centre, five restaurants each with their own individual character and style, a health Spa offering a wide range of luxurious treatments and extensive leisure facilities, and of course 36 holes of golf. Meals are taken in the resort's main restaurant. The Squire restaurant is named after golfing legend Gene "The Squire" Sarazen. The menu is changed seasonally and provides an eclectic mix of Scotland's larder with an excellent variety of flavours.
