Best Western Links Hotel

Best Western Links Hotel

The Best Western Links Hotel is an impressive Edwardian hotel set in the picturesque town of Montrose, home to the 5th Oldest Golf Course in the world and within walking distance of Montrose Beach, with three miles of golden sand. It offers quality and individual bedrooms and above all a warm & friendly atmosphere.

Descriptions of the three courses follow.

Panmure is no ordinary course and accurate driving and iron play between the sand hills are essential, while the greens offer subtleties of borrow and slope to test your putting. Panmure hosted Final Qualifying for The Open in 2007.

The challenge of the Medal course at Montrose often comes down to the weather. If the sea breeze is more than a breeze then the challenge is much tougher. Good shot making is required on every hole and the straighter you are, the better chance you have of a good score.

Regarded by many including Walter Hagen and Gary Player as one of the best links in the world, Carnoustie, though certainly long, is not a course for the unthinking big-hitter. With judgment of wind and distance critical, every tee shot needs careful placement to set up an approach to the green.
