Moray Golf Club

Stotfield Road, Lossiemouth, IV31 6QS

The ancient realm of Moray offers a wide choice of golf and its premier venue is undoubtedly the two Moray courses.

The wide expanse of gorse encrusted links, between the town of Lossie and the Cove sea lighthouse has proved ideal for golf. Planted within it are two of the best courses on the Moray coast, Moray Old and Moray New.

The Old course is considered to be one of the finest links courses in Scotland. A classic links designed by Old Tom Morris with deep revetted bunkers, undulating gorse lined fairways and smooth fast greens. It is a superb test of golf with seven par fours over 400 yards. Its closing hole is one of the best in the country. With out-of-bounds down the right and riveted bunkers and rough to the left errant drives are easily punished. This will leave you needing an accurate mid-iron to the green.

Moray Old

Number of holes: 18
Length: 6995 yards
Par: 71

Henry Cotton's preference for precision golf can be seen with the shorter but somewhat tighter New course with greens smaller than the Old but every bit as good, and equally challenging and rewarding.

Moray New

Number of holes: 18
Length: 6008 yards
Par: 69
Course type: Links
