Scotscraig plays frequent host to final qualifying for the British Open, when the event is played at the Old Course. There is little doubt that its fine links turf and smooth, fast greens make it a truly worthy venue. Scotscraig is a venerable links, and easily ranks as one of the better valued in all of Scotland.

Recently voted No. 91 in the Golf Monthly/HSBC Top 120 UK Course Rankings, Montrose Medal Course will once again be used as a Final Qualifying Course in July 2007 when the Open Championship returns to Carnoustie. This is a majestic layout in the true traditions of Scottish Links golf and is certainly one of the finest on the east coast.

This undulating parkland course is undoubtedly one of the best parkland courses in Scotland. It is a previous host of the Scottish Amateur and Professional Championships, but it was the hosting of the 1999 Open Championship qualifying that really brought it into the golfing limelight. It is an attractive looking course with the Gelly Burn coming into play on a selection of holes.
