Thornhill Golf Club

Thornhill Golf Club

Blacknest, Thornhill, Dumfriesshire, DG3 5DW

Thornhill was born from humble beginnings in 1893 and has developed into a delightful mixture of heathland and parkland. In 1979 the course was extended to 18 holes and in 1996 the clubhouse was expanded to accommodate an increasing number of visitors eager to play the course.

The course has magnificent, panoramic views, equal to any in Scotland. It has often been described as a "hidden jewel" in the crown of the home of golf. At 6, 085 yards, it features a delightful mix of long and short holes, including some tricky par threes where you have a real opportunity to fly it at the flag.

The Clubhouse was built in 1913 and the 500+ members pride themselves on maintaining the club's homely and friendly atmosphere. The fully licensed Clubhouse, which seats 60, offers snacks as well as excellent quality meals throughout the day.
