Alcaidesa Golf Club

Alcaidesa Golf Course

Alcaidesa Links Golf Club is an experience that cannot be found anywhere else in Spain, it is the first true links course in the country. Located to the west of San Roque, in an area rich with enthusiastic golfers the course has recently undergone an extensive programme of remodelling. The setting is quite spectacular and the views of the Mediterranean, Gibraltar and Africa are quite unique and very special.

The course boasts well-defined fairways and large greens of very high quality. It is a challenging course for all standards - hit the ball straight and you will enjoy the course immensely but if you are a little wayward then there could be trouble ahead. There are some tremendous holes with the Par 3 second being quite magnificent particularly if you are off the back tees. The redesigned Par 5 fifteenth is another which can take your breath away particularly if you are a big hitter and want to try and reach the green in two over the water.

Alcaidesa's new 18-hole, Heathland course, has been designed by Dave Thomas, former Ryder Cup player and famous for the design of many internationally-renowned courses. This course boasts a variety of natural landscapes ranging from a plateau area (holes 1 to 5, 17 and 18) resembling a heathland-type course, with wide fairways and superb views over the Mediterranean and the mountains, to the valley area through which the holes twist and turn their way, also featuring various water obstacles. Its total length is 6,373m..

The clubhouse is well-equipped and comfortable with bar and restaurant together with a very pleasant terrace area where you can gaze at the Mediterranean. The staff will always make you feel welcome.
