Golfing holidays and golf breaks in Wales.
Cardiff Whitchurch Golf Club Pantmawr Road, Whitchurch, Cardiff, CF14 7TD
Three miles north west of Cardiff is Whitchurch Golf Club, an undulating parkland course which also enjoys panoramic views of the city. The course has hosted the Welsh Professional Championship on three occasions and Ian Woosnam holds the course record with a 62.
This is one of South Glamorgan's most admired golf courses and after your round you will tend to agree. The opening par three allows you to fire at the flag for a rousing start to your round although it does get a little tougher after that.
The third is a tough par five that requires good positioning from the tee to give you a good line into the green. The seventh may be a par three but it is uphill all the way and only the most accurate of strikes will give you the opportunity to make par.
It enjoys superb year-round condition though is susceptible to strong northerly winds - links players, then, will feel right at home!
