Links Golfing Breaks

This mid-week 5 night / 5 round break offers great courses and luxury hotels.

Day 1 - Check into Hotel. Select from a choice of two quality hotels for you accommodation. The Dragon Hotel, located in Swansea's town centre, has recently undergone a £3.6 million refurbishment. The hotel is very stylish with a superb Brasserie restaurant, an excellent bar and a wide range of leisure facilities. The Stradey Park Hotel also offers a friendly welcome and a quality of the highest order. Spacious rooms, excellent cuisine and a relaxing bar provide the perfect base for your golfing break.

Day 2 - Breakfast. 18 Holes Pennard Golf Club

Pennard is located 8 miles west of Swansea on the Gower Peninsula in an area of outstanding natural beauty. The holes are routed over classically undulating and tumbling linksland, full of hummocks, hillocks and hollows and pocked with dunes large and small; in sum, exactly what we might hope to find beside the shore. Yet this exceptional terrain is not beside the shore - It is two hundred feet above it. No wonder Pennard has been called "the links in the sky." Pennard has been ranked in the UK's top 100 courses for the last four years and is currently rated as the fourth best course in Wales.

Day 3 - Breakfast. 18 Holes Southerndown Golf Club

Southerndown is a prestigious links style championship course with undulating fairways and tight lies. Southerndown's location adds spectacular views to the pleasure of the golfing experience. Bracken and gorse punish wayward shots and the wind challenges the golfer to use all their experience. As Peter Allis says, "One of the finest tests of golf in Wales!"

Day 4 - Breakfast. 18 Holes Ashburnham Golf Club

One of the classic Welsh links courses, Ashburnham celebrated it centenary in 1994 by staging the British Home International Team Championships. Overlooking Carmarthen Bay, Ashburnham is proud of the tradition of Championship golf held on the course whilst at the same time welcoming all golfers to share in the experience of this challenging Links course.

Day 5 - Breakfast. 18 Holes Machynys Golf Club

Wales' only Nicklaus design course, Machynys Peninsula is a modern Links style layout, overlooking Carmarthen Bay and the Gower Peninsula. Golf Monthly described it thus: 'A stunning location, great design and clever use of natural features suggests that Machynys will quickly develop into one of the best courses in the country'.

Day 6 - Breakfast. Check out of Hotel. 18 Holes Pyle & Kenfig Golf Club

Pyle & Kenfig possesses high dunes and deep, challenging valleys in a layout that offers plenty of diversity. There are two loops of nine holes returning to the clubhouse and the second half if regarded as the more challenging of the two with the final three holes viewed as the hardest. Each over 400 yards and with a daunting tee shot towards deeply-bunkered greens, they promise a demanding finish that helps make a visit to these links a memorable experience.
