Monmouthshire Golf Club

Monmouthshire Golf Club

The Monmouthshire, with a history stretching back to the 1890's is one of the best in the South Wales area. It is surrounded by so much colour and is is unquestionably a hidden gem.

The course is set against the beautiful scenery of the Usk valley. It is surrounded by the Blorenge, Sugar Loaf and Skirrid Mountains. It is a superb example of a mature parkland course which, from the back tees can be as tough as it is beautiful, and it is said to be the oldest 18 hole golf course in the County of Monmouthshire. The River Usk runs alongside the 6th hole and it is bordered by agricultural land which gives a real country feeling.

Founded in 1892 and designed by James Braid this course is as tough as it is beautiful. Characterised by 3 consecutive par 5's on the front 9 and 4 strong par 3's on the back 9, The Monmouthshire Golf Club is bound to captivate the established golfer of all playing abilities.
