St Deiniol Golf Club Pen-y-Bryn, Bangor, Gwynedd, LL57 1PX
The St Deiniol Golf Club (Bangor) was established in 1906. Designed by James Braid, the course offers a fine test of golf.
Situated on "Bangor Mountain", this heathland course provides magnificent views of Snowdonia, the Great Orme, Puffin Island and the Menai Strait. Overall, a great place to be.
St Deiniol is an attractive and very enjoyable test of golf, with magnificent views of the local area adding an extra incentive to play your best.
The ninth, a relatively short par four, is a fine example. Your tee shot is critical because you must give yourself a good line into the green, which is quite hard to hit.
The hardest hole, however, is, aptly, the 13th. With out-of-bounds left (marker posts) and right (wall), a straight tee shot is paramount. The fairway bends to the left and you must hit a clean iron to the raised green to give yourself a chance of making par.
No. of holes: 18
